Always Look On the Bright Side of Life

So we did not Kop Number 19 this season with two more games left to be played. Once upon a time, 18 Titles looked very difficult to emulate. But it looks like the scums have done that this season. Some quarters might argue that LFC have actually won 20 Titles, the two achieved during the wars. That is another story of course.

Old red-nose infamous lash at LFC in saying he would love "knocking Liverpool off their f***ing perch" has not happened yet. To do that, he needs to win the title at least one more time. And of course also win the Champions League a few more times too, because that is one nice perch to be seated upon. So, he can continue to worry about that and continue to be obsessed about it. I read somewhere this week that old red-nose had actually modelled his teams since 1986 by LFC's standards set by our legends. But of course this could be denied and argued until the cows come home.

This season we really made the scums sweat until the final two games. Well done to LFC! There are actually so many positives so far this season that one could hold on to. We could end up with 86 points, our highest ever in the history of the premiership. We have outscored all the other teams which is another positive sign of how far we have come. We have created the momentum and hunger for greatness, and most importantly the belief that the next title is not that far away. The fans are excited and rightly so. So many good players are linked to LFC at the moment, which only points to a deep belief and not just mere hope.

With Rafa still at the helm and already planning for next season, I bet we will continue to see vast improvement and who knows, next season could be it. The two remaining games are also interesting, not only for the reason of avoiding the play-off matches in the CL next season. It will prove to the fans how committed the players are and how the players react to the situation. It will also give a chance to some player to prove whether they deserve to continue to don the LFC jersey.

So, chins up and continue to chant the mantra for You'll Never Walk Alone!

3-0 West Ham: worry worry man united...

Liverpool might not become the champions this season but nobody can deny the fact that we are putting a lot of pressure on the scums this season. And I bet many of their fans, especially their red-nosed manager, are deeply worried at the moment. Probably their club tune rings quite loudly in the ears albeit with a different lyrics. "Worry worry man united".

Two games in hand doesn't mean an automatic 6 points. As the saying goes, do not count your chickens before the eggs hatch. After all, we were once 8 points clear at the top, remember? Everyone then thought the BPL was a forgone conclusion this season.

Their first worry is the local derby against Man City today (and you can bet fans of LFC from all over the world will be supporting City). If they do not clinch this game, their worries would be compounded, although a draw will see them back to the top again. After this game, they have another two before Liverpool plays West Brom next Sunday. If the scums were to lose two games before the last day of the season, our meeting with Spurs on that day will be really, really interesting. Hell, it will be one of the best endings to a season as focus would not only be one the bottom of the table as it usually is, but also at the top. The neutrals would be delighted if this were to happen.

Another worrying factor for the scums is we have proven that we could be a force challenging for the league title. We have out-scored them in the league, our players continue to have the belief, and Rafa is looking to further strenghten our squad for next season. After years of rebuilding and with internal squabbles almost out of the window, Rafa has come out to say that he is looking for quality players as addition for next season. This means many players will be offloaded since we have such a big squad, and the funds garnered will be used for 'quality' players. I like the sound of it a lot. So many players are linked to LFC at the moment, and any one of them could be in the reds jersey in the summer. Very exciting indeed.

If the scums go on to win enough games and win it this season, then so be it. Old red-nose should then consider resigning while he is on top, because next season he will have double the sleepless nights. Maybe he could dedicate the remaining years of his life going around thanking all the officials who have been sniffing his ass while he managed the scums. As we wait for this season to end, he can continue to be deeply worried. I like the sound of that a lot too.

3-0 Newcastle...sighaa

So here we are again, back to being 3 points behind the scums after beating Newcastle 3-0 today. The result could have been 7 or 8 goals in our favour, such was our dominance in the game. There are 3 more games left to play before the season ends, while the scums have a game in hand.

It is always nice to hear some players and supporters of LFC who keep saying we will not give up on the league title. But alas, ever since the destiny was out of our hands, this talk of not giving up is merely a hope. Many supporters still believe that the scums will drop at least 6 points by losing to Man City and Arsenal. If the really do lose the two games, it would be down to goal difference then. It will be exciting if it were to happen that the title is decided on the last day of the season. We have a better goal difference than the scums at the moment, but the title decided on goal difference has not happened that often. I cannot even recall when was the last time it happened.

Some supporters have already given up hope, meaning they do not see the scums dropping any points in their remaining matches. And of course the many dubious decisions in their favour by the referees in the recent games further strengthen their beliefs (those who are decades-long followers of the EPL know how far back the scums are favoured by the officials, not to mention the FA itself and the media).

Our form at the moment that sees us close behind the scums after every game must be very worrying for the scums. That for me is good enough because I can imagine the red-nosed scum having sleepless nights everytime we win. With more and more pressure building up on them to perform in the BPL and the CL, he might just crack up and go bonkers. That is something to hope for before the season's end.
